A Team Folder is a folder that an admin publishes to sub users. Sub users may access the same file in team folder simultaneously.
- Non-versioned Team Folder:
If the team folder is not versioned, when a file is edited by two users at the same time, whoever saves last always wins. It will overwrite the file. - Versioned Team Folder:
If the team folder is versioned and two users are editing the same file, each save will create a new version for the file. Admins can restore to a previous version.
File Locking:
When a sub-user is working on a file, he can choose to lock the file. If the file is locked by one user, other sub-users cannot save the file anymore.
- Sub-users can manually lock a file in a team folder
- Admins can enable distributed locking. Once enabled, when a file in a team folder is opened by one sub-user, it will be automatically locked.
- Admins are not limited by the lock. Even when a file is locked by a sub-user, the admin user can still edit and save it.
