In a team environment, where team members need to collaborate their work, the Gladinet Cloud administrator can setup shared Team Folders for users and manage access control.
To create a brand new team folder, open the Gladinet Cloud panel on the right of Gladinet Cloud web portal and click ‘New’ for Team Folders.
It will open the team folder creation window. There are several options for the team folder.
- Disable further sharing
Administrators can prevent sub users from sharing the team folder to public, maintaining security. - Enable versioning
Once enabled, Gladinet Cloud maintains a version history of files in the folder. Both the admin and sub users can access different versions of the file in the Gladinet Cloud web portal. With clients like Gladinet Cloud Desktop and Cloud Server, the administrator can restore previous versions or recover deleted files. - Create CIFS Share for local access
. This option is used to integrate with Gladinet Cloud Server. When enabled, the team folder will be automatically published as a CIFS share on each Gladinet Cloud Server. From the web UI, if the local users are loaded, the administrator can use them to define access permissions for the team folder. The CIFS share created in Cloud Server will have the same user permissions as those given to the team folder in the cloud.
To assign user permissions, click 'Add User' to open the 'Select User' window.
In Select User, the administrator can get a full user list, query specific users or add new users.
In the user list, select users and click 'OK'.
After returning to the publish window, select the read/write permissions for the selected user. Click 'Apply' to create the team version.
